Bridging the Gap for Off-grid Renewable Energy Deployment

The IEA Renewable Industry Advisory Board (RIAB) and the Coalition for Action of IRENA, in partnering with the South African Renewable Energy Council (SAREC) and REN21 hosted a side event at SAIREC on decentralised renewable energy systems, including mini-grids as an appropriate solution to provide reliable and competitive electrical services in the off-grid areas. This event targeted decision makers, investors and private sector developers with the aim of stimulating the market and increasing the deployment of decentralised energy including mini-grids.
