Webinar on Planning the Energy Transition with Global Atlas 2.0 - The Online Renewable Energy Prospe
The Global Atlas for Renewable Energy is a high-level prospector for renewable energy opportunities, which builds on a large repository of publicly available information, supplemented by information released by the private sector (visit IRENA's Global Atlas).
The Global Atlas supports countries in prospecting their renewable energy opportunities, companies to approach new markets, and the general public in gaining greater understanding of renewable energy potential.
In January 2015, IRENA released Global Atlas 2.0, which complements the resource data with ancillary data (e.g. grids, population, or protected areas) and socio- economic information. Global Atlas 2.0 includes a direct access to country profiles and energy statistics through REsource – IRENA’s knowledge portal. This webinar will demonstrate the latest functionalities of the Global Atlas, and show how the Global Atlas can be used to derive policy-relevant information.
