Planning the Energy Transition with Global Atlas 2.0
The Global Atlas for Renewable Energy is a tool for initial prospecting of renewable energy opportunities. Building on a large repository of publicly available information, this free online resource-assessment tool (www.irena.org/globalatlas) is further enriched by private sector information. The Global Atlas helps countries investigate and promote their renewable energy opportunities, companies approach new markets, and the general public in gaining a greater understanding of renewable energy potential.
In January 2015, IRENA released Global Atlas 2.0, an enhanced edition that complements resource maps with ancillary data (e.g., power grids, population centres, and protected areas) and socio-economic information. Global Atlas 2.0 provides direct access to country profiles and energy statistics through REsource – IRENA’s knowledge portal. This webinar will demonstrate these enhanced functions and show how you can use the Global Alas to derive key information for sustainable energy policy- and decision-making.
The webinar will be repeated at five different times to serve multiple regions worldwide:
- Europe and Africa – 23 March 2015 at 7:00am GMT
- North America – 23 March 2015 at 2:00pm GMT
