Solar PV Technical Training Workshop - ECOWAS Renewable Energy Entrepreneurship Support
IRENA, together with the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE), the Centre for Renewable Energy and Industrial Maintenance (CERMI) and funded by the Government of Luxembourg, organised a technical training workshop for ECOWAS-based renewable energy entrepreneurs, from 14 to 18 December 2015 in Praia – Cabo Verde. The training workshop focused on various technical aspects of solar PV projects and included topics such as system design principles, technical specifications, storage options, metering and various payment options, system design and component sizing, operation and maintenance, installation guidelines, and included case studies and practical sessions on design of solar pumping, standalone rooftop PV with storage, grid connected rooftop PV, PV hybrid systems and PV micro/mini grid systems.
