Vocational Training in the Renewable Energy Sector: Sharing of Best Practices and Lessons Learned
The rapid deployment of renewable energy technologies can pose numerous challenges for energy related stakeholders when local technicians lack the necessary skills to install and maintain systems. Quality vocational training is needed in order to ensure that technicians adhere to protection and safety guidelines and utilize best practices in the design and installation of renewable energy systems.
This webinar will introduced the Vocational Training and Education for Clean Energy (VOCTEC) programme, led by Arizona State University with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the solar installer certification training being carried out by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The purpose of this webinar was to share lessons learned and best practices from ongoing capacity building activities in West Africa and the Pacific Islands.
