WWEC side-events: Regional Wind Energy Integration Quality Assurance for Small Wind Turbines in Asia
The 13th World Wind Energy Conference and Exhibition (WWEC 2014), held in Shanghai, China, focused on policies, technology, financing, governance and capacity building for wind energy, as well as integration of renewables into the energy mix. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) co-organised two side events with the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) during the first day of the conference, which took place on 7-9 April. One event explored ways to improve the integration of wind power into Asian electricity grids through cross-border and regional cooperation. The other looked at how to develop quality-assurance mechanisms for the small-scale wind power market in Asia.
