  • What are the requirements to join?
    Market players interested in registering on the Marketplace are required to create a profile and provide information about their organisation and activities. In addition, project owners and investors must add respectively at least one project or instrument to complete the registration process.
  • Is there any cost involved at any stage of registering for / using the Marketplace?
    The Marketplace is a free platform for project owners, governments, financiers, and service providers and technology suppliers operating in developing countries and emerging markets.
  • How can market players register and access the Marketplace?
    Market players – project owners, financing entities, service providers or technology suppliers – can access the Marketplace platform here.
  • What is the level of detail required for a project to be approved on the Marketplace?
    The Marketplace is inclusive and accepts projects at various stages of development. At a minimum, a project owner should have begun to explore initial parameters, such as: the potential site, the renewable energy type of the project, the approximate size of the project, land use rights, grid connection possibilities and an initial estimate of investment costs based on these factors.
  • How large are the projects posted to the Marketplace?
    There are no specific requirements regarding project size, it is however assumed that projects benefiting most from the Marketplace will be in the range of 1 MW to 50 MW, and valued from USD 1 million to 100 million. The smallest projects in the Marketplace are valued at less than USD 500,000, while the largest ones have an investment cost of several hundred million USD.
  • Which regions are covered by the Marketplace
    The Marketplace covers all developing countries in Africa, Latin and Central America, Asia, South and East Europe and Small Island Developing states.
