RRA Egypt: Stakeholder Consultation Workshop

This multi-stakeholder consultation workshop is organized by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), jointly with the New & Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) in Egypt.

Building on an earlier kick-off meeting, the workshop gathered national stakeholders from the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the NREA, utilities, private sector as well as development partners and donors. The aim was to consolidate the findings drawn from research and previous consultations on issues that are critical for the rapid development of renewables in Egypt, a collaborative effort between the government of Egypt and IRENA.

Outcomes of the workshop fed into the final Renewables Readiness Assessment publication for consideration in the reinforcement of an architecture for the development of renewable energy in Egypt.
