5th Collaborative Framework on Critical Materials for the Energy Transition

IRENA's Collaborative Framework on Critical Materials for the Energy Transition (CFCM) is an inclusive platform for dialogue and cooperation among Members and stakeholders to advance a secure, sustainable, and resilient supply of critical materials essential for the global energy transition.

As the world works toward tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030, ensuring resilient and sustainable supply chains for critical materials has become a strategic priority. The accelerating demand for critical materials — especially those required for batteries and electric vehicles — highlights the urgency of diversifying supply sources, strengthening recycling capacity, and promoting innovation across the value chain.

The fifth meeting of the CFCM will bring together governments, industry leaders, and experts to explore the latest technological and policy developments in EV batteries, with a focus on how innovation and circularity can enhance supply chain sustainability. Participants will discuss practical solutions to reduce material demand, improve recycling systems, integrate ESG principles into global and regional supply chains as well as local value creation.

Closed virtual event, by invitation only.
